League Rules

Rules:

1. To be eligible for 30+, all players must be at least 30 years old during the current calendar year. Proof of age may be required. The use of an ineligible player will result in a forfeit of all games in which the ineligible player participated (Score 10-0 for each of those games).

2. Pitchers

One Pitcher may throw 12 consecutive outs.  This can be the starter or any pitcher to follow

Subsequent pitchers are restricted to 9 consecutive outs

3. Must bat a minimum 9 players in your order. If less than 9 batters... outs will be applied during their subsequent position in the batting order. Players may play defensive positions (includes pitcher) even though they are not in the batting lineup. A courtesy runner can be used for any player at any time. Any player can courtesy run. (Sportsmanship is important here, we understand the need for courtesy runners but expect fairness and prudent judgement to reign)

** player swapping with opposing team or other teams to fill the roster for any given game is not only acceptable, it is encouraged. "Borrowed" players must bat at the bottom of the order and can not pitch.

4. Teams may add their spares to the order at any time with no batter re-entry.

5- just play a respectful game, intentional interference or other inappropriate acts will not be tolerated including ARGUING WITH UMPIRES.

There is to be zero contact with Catchers on plays at home plate.  Players must slide or give themselves up.

FIRST OFFENSE- 100 FINE + 1 GAME SUSPENSION

SECOND OFFENSE - $500 FINE + SUSPENSION FOR REMAINDER OF SEASON

6-Decoy tags, inducing a runner to slide unnecessarily, are prohibited. Offending may be ejected. Runner will be given the base and any other base he would have achieved had the offence not occurred.

7. Baserunning reminder: With a runner at 1st and a potential double play, the runner must slide directly into second base, and if not able to reach second in time to slide, then the runner must run outside the baseline so as to not interfere with the throw. Failure to do so will result in the umpire calling a double play to have occurred. The defensive player making the throw from second base must actually attempt a throw before this takes effect.

8. 5 runs scored maximum per inning. The last inning is open.

9. Modified Mercy Rule: if a team is losing by more than 10 runs after 5 innings, they have the choice of stopping or continuing the game to completion

14. If game is tied after 7 innings and there is time:

7th inning. Last two outs start on 3rd and 2nd base respectively for each team

8th inning- last three outs load the bases in order to begin the inning.
